These 650B Velocity Quills are a great, all-around single speed/fixed gear wheelset for those who look for wider tires on 700C frames that can't accept wider tires. These are not 650C wheels (which are for small frames or track use).

IMPORTANT: The diameter of these wheels are considerably smaller than traditional 700C wheels (38mm/1.5"). You will need to install at least 38mm, if not 42mm, tires to offset the size difference  to ensure your bottom bracket (and pedals) is not too low. If not installing on Wabi frames, we recommend measuring the inside width of your chain stays at about 13" from the axle center to determine what size can fit (with clearance on both sides). For Wabi frames, we recommend 42mm tires on Classics. This will lower the frame by just under a 1/2". If riding freewheel with brakes, you will need long reach brakes, like the Tektro R559s, and you can opt to stay with 170mm crank arms (though 165mm will be less likely to have pedal strike on turns). If riding fixed, we highly recommend 165mm crank arms to prevent pedal strike.

This wheelset features Velocity Quill rims, which are a wider stiffer version of Velocity's flagship rim, the A23. You can also run them tubeless for both road and CX riding. The rims are paired with a high flange sealed bearing hub and double-butted spokes.
